Dove House Hospice - Chaimberlain Rd - Hull - HU8 8DH

Is a hospice somewhere you only go to when you die? Does a hospice only look after cancer patients? Is a hospice a gloomy and sad place? The answer to all of these questions is simply “No”.

Discover more about this well-known local charity on a behind the scenes tour. Visitors can expect to find out exactly what happens at a hospice as staff show them around and bust some common myths about hospice care

Most people only come to the hospice if they or someone they know is living with terminal illness or if they are a medical professional, but the Dove House team want to change that and are keen to tell guests during the Heritage Open Days why hospices are a key part of life’s whole journey. It is also chance for the community to see how all the fundraising they do and support they give is helping local people

Tours will show you patient areas, areas not yet open and some places that may surprise you such as the beautiful gardens, the music room and even the gym. And, of course, no visit to Dove House is complete without a cup of tea and a slice of cake whilst chatting to the friendly staff and volunteers!

There’s so much more to hospice care than most people think – come along to find out everything there is to know about Hull’s only hospice and why it really is a place full of life.
