Hull – England’s most poetic city – by David Osgerby

Local poet David Osgerby will host an informative and (hopefully) entertaining talk on the history of poetry and poets in Hull. From Marvell to Larkin and beyond, Hull has always produced outstanding poetry.

In addition to the history, David will also pay tribute to the current poetry scene in Hull, which is as vibrant and varied as it’s ever been.

There will be poetry, and there will be history; two subjects inextricably interlinked. If you’re interested in either, (or both), please come along and lend an ear. David will also be asking the question – Why doesn’t Hull have its own Poet  Laureate?
