Beverley: over 500 years of history in less than 500 footsteps!
Beverley Treasure House, 31 Champney Road, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 8HE
A very short walk with history in every step, centred around Beverley's government quarter.
Join Colin Bradshaw for the shortest history walk we offer. In less than 500 footsteps you will be taken from the 21C back to the 16C. Incredibly we will range from drunks to members of the Temperance movement; from Dick Turpin to James Elwell; from a gentleman’s club to evacuee children. And that is only a tiny taste of what you will encounter. On arrival at the Guildhall you will be given a conducted tour of one of the most fascinating buildings in Yorkshire, by the curators. Length: less than 500 footsteps. Walk: very short and very flat.
