Laurel Farm, Aike, Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire, YO25 9BG
A great opportunity to see Beverley's nearest vineyard at harvest time, see how award winning wine is produced from our East Yorkshire soil. Tours of the winery, walks around the vineyard and wine tasting!
Laurel Vines is a multi-award winning, family run vineyard and winery in the heart of East Yorkshire within the hamlet of Aike. Established in 2011 by winemaker Ian Sargent and wife Ann, 2,000 vines were planted on the site's beautiful, south-facing rolling slopes. Now 10 years down the line, with more than 12,000 vines in the ground and a state of the art on-site winery, the team are completely dedicated to ensuring that their passion for quality and excellence features in every bottle – as they say ‘from grape to glass all on site’.
The vineyard itself has 9 different varieties of grapevine, including the traditional champagne trio of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Our passion for quality is shown by the hands-on approach taken in nurturing and caring for each vine on the site, by pruning, trimming and picking each vine by hand, every year. This approach is also undertaken in the winery; as each bottle is filled, corked and capped by hand to ensure that care and pride is in each step of the process.
Visitors can enjoy fantastic walks around the vineyard, tours of our amazing winery and experience exactly what goes into making our wonderful wines. Our team will be on hand to take you through every step of the process, explaining our ambition in becoming a recognised sustainable vineyard and wine producer within the UK, and share the next stage of our exciting journey. Let’s celebrate and toast our 10th Anniversary with Heritage Open days!
